This is probably a mistake since I have at least 50 books on my shelf waiting for me to read now, but I have run across a few more to put on the list.
Horns: A Novel by Joe Hill - The main character wakes up one day with horns and the power to get people to say things they would rather not. There is a mystery to solve, and the process of solving it involves some hilarity. Just my kind of book. Joe Hill is Stephen King's son, so that piques my curiosty as well.
The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa - Another short-term memory book, but this time the person with the short-term memory is a mathematics professor. I saw this recommendation on spoonreader, another blog.
Cutting for Stone: A novel by Abraham Verghese - I keep running across this book and now it has been suggested to me by a friend, so maybe it is time to give in.
